General Surgery

Ideal for surgical applications ranging from the routine to most-challenging, SurgiMend is rapidly becoming the product of choice because there are no compromises required:

• It is available in sizes as large as 13 x 25 cm.
• It can be used with open surgery or laparoscopically, and as an onlay, overlay, or interpositionally.
• It is strong (nominal tensile strength: ~29 MPa) and easily sutured (nominal suture pull out: ~35.5 N) – yet SurgiMend feels soft and supple, and molds readily to the surgical site.

Easy to use, SurgiMend can be trimmed wet or dry, and can be placed in any orientation, with either side up. Hydration takes about 60 seconds in room temperature saline. Safety is also assured. TEI's proprietary process removes cellular components and potentially infectious agents, and all of our biologic matrix products are terminally sterilized. With SurgiMend and all TEI products, there are no worries about possible HIV or hepatitis infection. The fetal bovine source material is readily available and makes large sizes possible.
